Want a stem plant that simply does not die? Bacopa monnieri is the one — thick, smooth, rounded leaves on upright stems, tolerant of hard water, warm water and neglect. It is one of the few stems that stays presentable in a low-tech tank with no CO₂ and ordinary lighting.

Grower's Notes
- It is a genuine low-tech plant. No CO₂, no pressurized anything, ordinary lighting — Bacopa monnieri grows well in the sort of tank most people actually run. That is the reason to buy it over a more demanding stem.
- The thick succulent leaves are why it is forgiving. They hold water and nutrients, so the plant rides out parameter swings that thin-leaved stems will not.
- Trim above a leaf pair and the stem branches into two. Regular topping is what turns a few stems into a bush rather than a row of bare poles.
- Replant the cut tops; they root within days. Keep the bare bases only if you want them to branch low.
- It tolerates harder, more alkaline water than most stem plants, which makes it a good choice where Rotala and Ludwigia struggle.
Want the textured version? Bacopa monnieri 'Serrata' has distinctly serrated leaves — many aquarists plant both together for the contrast between smooth and toothed foliage. Also available as sterile Vitro Culture.

Notes
- Bacopa monnieri ships in its emersed form with green leaves. Some leaf melting or adjustment may occur when transitioning to fully submerged growth, but new aquatic growth will quickly appear under proper conditions.
- Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.

Showed up healthy and ready to be planted. It's already loving the environment. A few new leaves already and it's only been a couple weeks. ❤️❤️

I bought a good amount of plants from APF both to set up a new 10 gallon Betta Tank and add to our existing 75 gallon community tank. The plants came in very well packaged and in great health. We just did a second order to add a bit more to the 75 gallon since we now know how great the plants are coming in.
S
Never had this before so not sure how it's supposed to look. Shipment was late. It's doing ok for now.

I have purchased from a couple companies and this place is my go to. Even though they are a couple states away and I live in the hot south, my plants come in really good packaging and always green. I really appreciated the plant care this company has and awesome customer service.
M
Hi, Most everything came in good. Except for the Bacopa that came free of its bundle during shipment. I've planted what I could but it is not doing very well.
G
Though many stalks were included in a bunch, I think you definitely need a few bunches to get any sort of density to these. All the plants in my 55g tank are from Aquarium Plants Factory and as you can see, they've all grown SO much since I received them! (For reference, I don't use CO2 and they've still done extremely well!) And maybe I lucked out, but all the plants were/are snail free!
R
Solid decision on buying this, adds some green to the tank and makes for some coverage.
S
This is my second time purchasing from APF and I'm thrilled! Package arrived quickly and was safely packed and the plant was green, healthy and vibrant! I received several generously-sized stems and decided to dip treat them just in case and quarantine before planting. I'm happy to report that no hitchhikers/pests/snails were found! Can't wait to see how this grows in once I plant it. Will definitely pick up more plants from here in the future. Very happy customer!

Plants came with great lush growth ready for planting!

delivery was quick and everything arrived very well packages

They really sent a very nice portion of this plant. Almost ordered too much. I was unable to plant it all in the layout I was using. It is very healthy and looks nice in the tank. I have it planted a little over 2 weeks and very happy.

As always APF is great to work with. Processing times were quick and the plants all arrived well-packaged and healthy. The Bacopa Monnieri was a nice sized bunch, very healthy! Hopefully it'll do well in my tank. :)
B
Plants arrived safe and sound due to great attention to packaging. Plants were exactly as shown/described on line. Would definitely purchase more in the future.

so far so good

The moneywort looks a little different than I’m used to seeing. Almost like they cut the tops off that were growing out of water and sent to me. Different shaped leaves and everything. Also the stems are all bent, I like mine growing straight up and down. The water sprite is gorgeous, but I thought I was buying 2 and receiving one free, when I actually only bought one for a pretty expensive price. The water spangles were pretty good though. Kind of expensive even after the discounts. I probably won’t buy again. It’s not really a wholesale type shop, you pay more than retail, and receive par quality. Just my opinion.
K
These plants came perfectly packaged and were wrapped very nicely. There were no broken stems. The plants also were very healthy, with new growth and good amount of roots on my stem plants for planting into my substrate. The seller sent me many emails thanking me for my purchase and was very kind. I definitely will buy from here again in the future. I’ve bought from other sellers in the past and the quality is just not the same. :) Thankyou so much!!
T
Arrived in good shape, nice size bunch for the price, would recommend.
K
Like a lot of other customers, I was skeptical about the condition the plants would arrive in because of the heat and the recent shipping delays. Was pleasantly surprised to receive healthy plants. Look great in the tank.
C
I just received my order in the mail. I was worried at first that coming here to Florida with all this heat I would get some dead ones. Was I surprised when I opened the box and everything was still alive and healthy. I have them sitting in a bucket of water waiting on my tank to arrive tomorrow. I Will order from this great company again. Thanks
J
I wish I had bought a couple of bundles although there were lots of little stalks in the bundle. I separated them, but they look lovely.
N
Just got these in today. Can't believe how green and healthy they were! I did the buy two get one free and I had 31 plants! Couldn't believe it. Nice to plant them all and have my aquarium looking full right off the bat. Wish I could give more stars. Just order some moss and shrimp since the plants are so nice! Came quick and the plants were very wet with extra water in the package.
E
Nice healthy plants that arrived quickly and safely packaged
G
The Bacopa was in excellent condition as it was clearly fresh cut and packaged very well for shipment. Very Pleased.
J
The over all shipment of the plants were wonderful. They arrived healthy completely protected from shipping roughness. Across the country, so I am totally happy with my purchase. I will be purchasing my future plants ( if they are stocked) from here, no doubt about it!
S
All the plants I ordered came healthy and green no snails or other critters which is great too, will be ordering from only this website from now on!
