First, I love this plant. The new leaves are such a vibrant red, and the plants that have survived seem healthy. They appeared to be very strong out of the bag, but I have lost one for certain. It sprouted beautiful new leaves, then one day just turned completely brown -- the whole plant. I pulled it out and let it float for the sake of the picture so we can see the translucent leaves.
But the ones that have survived, well, one looks like it's turning brown slowly, but the others are all with new leaves and doing well. I figure that this is the risk. Sometimes, a plant is DOA, and sometimes we can't see if there are any negative effects from shipping. I don't think that APF would ever send me questionable plants. In fact, they once canceled part of my order because it did not meet their standards. Thoughtful. Good business. But because I accept the risks, I have even ordered more of this cute plant.
What else I like about it is that it fills up space. It's a wide, full, squat plant. I don't have to wait months like I might with a cryptocorene plant for it to fill out. Even my other echinodorus plants take time to fill out and get bushy. Not this little sucker. Broad leaves. Full. And it took one single day to see new growth in all of the reni that I ordered. Granted, some did not make it, but oh well. That's the case even if I bought them locally.
These plants are all surviving. When I received them, some did not have roots, so I wrapped the thinnest little lead around them. So far, so good. I have many new leaves popping up too.
What I really liked was that APF sent me all the little runners attached to the number of plants ordered. Now, I don't expect this every time, but it was generous, and I'd like to think that they considered the approximately $500 I just spent in the last few weeks lol...and my obvious addiction to having plants sent directly to my home. No gas money. No traffic. No fighting for parking at my local pet store. A huge selection of plants at my fingertips. Of course, there is no such thing as free shipping to Hawaii, so I pay for all of these conveniences as well as pay for the plants. But hey, everything costs something; pay in dollars or pay in time and stress.
I’m very pleased with my Anubis’s panda. I was happy to see how many little plants came😊
The Dark Angels literally showed up in the package like they were straight out of a stock photo… right now they’re in a new tank melting a little bit because they were grown out of water which is something people need to remember when introducing APF plants to your tank. I’m running Co2 and in a few weeks I know they’re going to look stunning. APF does it again.
A heaping cup of super healthy lobelia! Everything from APF is always top notch
This has to be my new favorite plant. Only now have I attempted to raise this plant, and I have a few leaves melting away because of water shock. Apparently, I failed to read the literature posted here at APF lol.
The white is crisp, starch white, and the way that it "varigates" (IDK if that's a real word) is just stunning. It's a bold statement in the tank, especially amongst a sea of green. I imagine that it might disappear if my tank was a smorgasbord of varigated plants. It doesn't have fancy edges or bright pink streaks, but it has character and style. Love this plant so much, it is in almost every tank that I own. And APF sent me super healthy specimens, carefully packaged. Addicted!
I’m excited to have this in the tank. Looks great on the driftwood. I split 5 plants from the bag.
Excellent little plant, looks awesome!
Recieved the culture with a stong root system. It has a beautiful color that contrats well in the aquarium. I read that a lot of people experience crypto melt but the culture i received is doing well and hasnt showed ant signs of melt.
Good quality plant, which survived the delay caused by USPS (and the delivery person just leaving it in the mailbox despite a note >.<').
It is growing well.
I elder plants from Aquarium Plants Factory several times a year. One thing I’ve learned is that “Bare Root” generally means “sprouts.” While the plants always arrive in good shape, I recommend you pay a little more and get potted specimens. The bare root Cryptocoryne affinis I received were tiny. The plants were so delicate that they were hard to plant in the substrate. But if you do get bare root plants, I strongly suggest you plant them in a sand substrate. Give them a chance to put out proper roots and grow before putting them in a tank with bottom, feeding fish and Siamese algae eaters. Those species of fish tend to uproot delicate plants with their foraging. In summary, pay a little more to get potted plants from this excellent grower.
Every thing looked great and boxed well just a little small and hard to place but they look good thank you
Nice and tall plants. Super green and are a delight to look at. Highly recommend.
Fast delivery considering I live in GA. I ordered a variety of plants. All arrived alive and well kept. They are all doing really great so far! I will be 100 percent buying more from Plantsfactory again!
I’ve been using aquariumplantsfactory since around 2018 and I recommend you guys to everyone! The quality of your plants is always impeccable and you guys have wonderful customer service. The only thing I’ve noticed over the years is the quantity of plants sent isn’t as generous as years past. But it’s a small critique and with CO2 you can turn a small amount into a lot with time. Keep being awesome!
Very happy with the culture. I’m a big fan of these bag cultures over the hard cups, the quantity is usually greater, the size larger, and the use of plastics a little less. Plants arrived healthy with numerous plantlets off the shoots. Will order again!
they haven't melted at all yet but they came in extremely healthy and bright with tons of shooters coming out so if they do melt i will still be happy they are perfectly healthy and huge
