Ophiopogon japonicus 'Nana', commonly known as Dwarf Mondo Grass, is a charming, compact variety of Mondo Grass, known for its dense, dark green, grass-like clumps. This dwarf species grows to about half the size of other Mondo Grass varieties, making it an ideal choice for creating lush ground cover in Japanese gardens and terrariums.
While Dwarf Mondo Grass is sometimes used as a live aquarium ornament due to its ability to survive underwater for a short period, it is not a true aquatic plant. It will eventually die if kept submerged for more than a month, making it unsuitable for long-term use in aquariums.
Dwarf Mondo Grass is an excellent choice for terrariums, thriving in both closed, sealed terrariums with high humidity and open-top terrariums with lower humidity. Its dense, grass-like clumps create a lush, green ground cover that adds texture and visual appeal to your terrarium setup.
