Welcome & Referral Offer Terms

These terms cover the welcome offer, the text sign-up bonus and Refer a Friend from Aquarium Plants Factory ("we", "us"). They are part of our Terms of Service and work alongside our Privacy Policy and Returns, Refunds & Live Arrival Guarantee. Paid memberships (APF Club and APF Reserve) have their own Membership Terms.

1. Who can use these offers

• These offers are free and for personal, non-commercial use. Resellers, wholesale, business and marketplace (Amazon, eBay) accounts are not eligible.
• You must be at least 18, or be 13 to 17 with a parent or guardian's permission.
• One account per person. Codes and store credit work only for the account and email they were issued to.

2. Welcome offer: $5 off your first order

• New customers (people who have never ordered from us) who sign up through our website popup and confirm their email get a $5 code for a first order with a product subtotal of $35 or more.
• Returning customers (people who have ordered from us before) can join our emails, but don't get the welcome code, because it's a thank-you for a first order. We check this when you confirm your email.
• The code is valid for 60 days. Limit one welcome offer per person, household and shipping address.
• Signing up for emails is how you receive the code. You can unsubscribe at any time; a code already issued stays valid until its use-by date.

3. Text sign-up bonus: $5 more

• New customers who also sign up for our text messages from the website popup and confirm by replying Y get a second $5 code for their first order ($10 off in total on a first order of $35 or more), valid for 60 days.
• Returning customers who sign up for our texts for the first time from the website popup, after confirming their email, and confirm by replying Y get a $5 code for one order with a product subtotal of $35 or more, valid for 60 days. If you already get our texts, no new code is issued.
• The welcome code and the text code can be used together on the same first order.
• Limit one text bonus per person, household, shipping address and mobile number, for US and Canadian mobile numbers. Texts are optional and not required to get the welcome offer or to buy anything. See our SMS Terms.

4. Refer a Friend

• Your link: signed-in customers get a personal referral link and code on the membership page, after their first order ships or on request.
• Your friend gets $10 off their first order with a product subtotal of $50 or more. The friend offer is for new customers only, once per customer, and works with Buy 2 Get 1 Free and shipping offers, but not with other discount codes.
• You get $10 in store credit 14 days after your friend's first order ships, as long as that order hasn't been cancelled and is still at least $50 after any refunds. We email you when it's added. It comes off your next order at checkout when you're signed in to your account, and it expires 12 months after it's added.
• You can earn referral rewards for up to 10 friends per calendar year.
• Your friend must be a different person living at a different address. No referral reward is given when the friend's order shares a shipping or billing address, a phone number, or a last name and ZIP code with you. Referring yourself or another of your accounts isn't allowed.
• Share your link only with people you know. Don't post it on coupon or deal sites, send it by spam, bulk email or text, or use it in paid ads or with our brand name or logo. When you share it, please make clear that you get a reward if your friend orders. You're responsible for following anti-spam and messaging laws when you share.
• Creators with an audience can apply to our separate APF Partner Program, which has its own Partner Program terms.

5. How codes and store credit work

• Codes are for future orders. A code can't be added to an order that has already been placed.
• The use-by date is shown with every code. Codes can't be used after that date and aren't replaced or extended.
• Except for the welcome and text codes used together on a first order, one code per order. Codes work with Buy 2 Get 1 Free. They can't be used to buy gift cards or a membership.
• Codes have no cash value, can't be exchanged for cash or store credit, can't be sold or transferred, and aren't refunded if an order is cancelled or returned. If an order paid partly with a code is refunded, the refund covers only the amount you paid.
• Referral store credit has no cash value, can't be exchanged for cash, sold or transferred, and can't be used to buy gift cards. Unused store credit ends on its expiry date. If an order paid with store credit is refunded, the store credit goes back to your account.

6. Fair use, fraud and mistakes

We may cancel codes, withhold or remove referral store credit, or close an account if we believe these offers are being misused. Examples include self-referrals, using more than one account, email or phone number to collect offers, reselling or sharing codes, orders that are later reversed or charged back, or any breach of these terms. If a code or store credit is issued by mistake (for example, because of a technical or pricing error), we may cancel or correct it, including codes or credit not yet used.

7. Changes

We may change, pause or end these offers, or these terms, at any time, to the extent the law allows. Changes are posted on this page with a new date and don't cancel codes or store credit already issued.

8. Legal details

• Void where prohibited. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
• Questions and disputes are handled as described in our Terms of Service. Please contact us first so we can try to fix it.
• If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
