Read this first: this is not a true aquatic plant. Alternanthera ficoidea 'Pink' is a terrarium, vivarium and bog plant with vivid pink foliage. It will live submerged in an aquarium for several months — often rooting and gaining height — but it needs a spell growing above water afterwards to recover. Sold on that understanding.

Grower’s Notes
- Plan the rotation before you buy. Submerged, it looks excellent for a few months and then declines. Move it to a humid emersed setup for a few months to rebuild, then return it. Treated as a permanent aquarium plant it will simply die — slowly enough that people blame their water.
- Emersed is where it belongs. In a vivarium or riparium with wet soil and high humidity it thrives indefinitely, and the pink is stronger.
- Keep humidity high during the recovery phase — that's when it is most vulnerable.
- Light drives the color. In shade the pink fades toward green.
- For permanent pink in the water, use a true aquatic instead — Alternanthera reineckii is the same genus and fully submersible.
Notes
- Pictures are not the actual plants you will receive, but a sample representation. Unless specific, we don't guarantee aquatic plants will be free of pests, pesticides, grow emerged, or submerge.
- Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.

Customers praised these vibrant pink aquarium plants for arriving "fresh and beautiful" with "healthy" stems. Most noted excellent packaging and fast shipping. Plants add a colorful pop to tanks and grow quickly. One shopper cautioned it's not fully aquatic and may lose leaves when submersed. Some mentioned smaller size than expected, but overall satisfaction was high.

These plants arrived quickly in perfect condition and provide a lovely splash of color to my aquarium. I’ve had a hard time finding quality, healthy aquatic plants locally and I’m delighted to have found Aquarium Plants Factory. I would absolutely but from them again.

Once again, the Aquarium Plants Factory did not disappoint. We received our Alternanthera Bettzickiana Red in great condition. It was quickly added to our new tank, but we have yet to seat it in the substrate. Very happy with the size and health of our purchase.

Love this plant!
C
Beautiful, healthy plants, this is my second time ordering from APF, and in both cases I have been very happy. Plants arrived quickly and in great condition. The prices are great too!
R
A little small but I'm hoping with some time they can flourish into something bigger. Ordered quite a few plants for my tank, came pretty quick and even got an email from the company thanking me for my order. Overall, I'm satisfied with my order and will buy from them in the future.
C
I received my plants in a well packed box and when I opened the box the plants where sealed in a plastic baggie and in great condition. Would absolutely 100% order again
R
Lots of red, My cichlids loved too! They keep chewing the stalks so I had to cover the Plants with Sand and they are busy removing the sand.
The plants are great and healthy, maybe I will try to bury them in crushed coral and give the plants more time to establish their roots.
Great job as always shipping.
Y
They came fresh and beautiful. Will always buy from this company
M

Wow! This plant really is a beautiful pop of pink in my tank! Plant was tall, full, and healthy, didn’t experience any melting. Definitely will buy this plant again!
A
This is my 4th order with APF and they always do a wonderful job with shipping. Everything came in healthy and I have no complaints.
That being said, please read the description of this plant before ordering. It is not a fully aquatic plant (and it clearly states it in the description, I just didn’t read it before buying) and I’m not sure how well it will do if you’re intending to grow it fully submersed. Mine have already lost a lot of leaves and aren’t looking the best.
All of that being said, I take responsibility for not reading and understanding this particular plant before buying and will just simply order some others from APF should these plants fail and I have the need.
S
This plant’s colors are beautiful. The colors are a perfect pop for your aquarium. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely charming little plant. Perfect pop of color in my planted tank. Shipped quickly, arrived healthy, and started growing new roots within days. I will definitely order from this site again!
E
These were a great purchase. They arrived very healthy with no obvious issues. Thick bundles of healthy vines. Just FYI these are bundled cuttings. They are very healthy and the packaging and delivery was great I have a large fully planted aquarium so I foresee no problems. No roots on the cuttings when received but they look healthy and happy. Would buy from here again.
D
Great plant. Low iron turns it green. Grows aerial roots that you can trim tops and propagate.
K
Got these along with a few other plants. They were in excellent condition on arrival, even though they were a few days late (USPS delays since before christmas), and it was cold when they arrived. Great packaging and condition. There are also a lot of individual pcs in each bundle, great value. Looking great so far after a week in the tank, no melt.
A
I can't wait for it the colors to be more vibrant but it looks heathy and strong! Newly planted, it adds a new dimension to my tank. Highly recommend for anyone who wants more color, but not too obnoxious.
