Grower’s Notes
- Trimming is what keeps it a foreground plant. Left alone it lengthens and behaves like a small standard AR. Topped regularly it stays low and bushy, and under strong light with frequent pruning it will form a red carpet-like mat.
- Divide the cup into small clumps and plant them a little apart rather than as one block — tissue culture stock establishes faster with space around it.
- Rinse the gel off completely before planting or it clouds water and feeds algae in the first weeks.
- Lean nitrate deepens the color. A heavily fed tank keeps it green however strong the light.
- Expect it greener on arrival. Tissue culture plants are grown emersed and the red develops after two to three weeks of submerged growth.

*Initially put this review under the wrong product, it should have been for this tissue culture product* Spot on quality! Tissue culture came in pristine and red. It's also being VERY forgiving for a beginner (me) with red plants. There's been melting as of 2 weeks into them being planted in my tank, however I expected that given they were possibly grown emersed or due to effects from my lack of experience with this plant.
Highly recommend CO2 and a planted LED, as they have definitely grown and, possibly(?), started growing runners (see pics) faster than I otherwise would have expected based on various descriptions of Alternanthera reineckii mini I've read. All-in-all I am happy with this purchase!

I wasn’t able to plant it as soon as a had received it but even after a few days, it was still healthy and perfect! It’s already growing!!! I wanted to add a little color to my newly planted tank. Tickletank (koi betta) and my shrimps love it!
