Want magenta rather than plain red? Alternanthera reineckii 'Super Magenta' runs deeper into pink and purple than standard AR, and holds it further down the stem. It is the strongest color contrast you can put next to a green background without resorting to a difficult plant.

Grower’s Notes
- Trim hard and often. Left alone it reaches for the surface and goes bare at the base; topped regularly it stays a dense magenta block, which is the whole point of this variety.
- Color needs iron and lean nitrate together. Strong light alone with a heavily fed tank gives you a large green plant.
- Replant the trimmed tops into the stand rather than keeping bare lower stems — tops root fast and color up immediately.
- Plant stems a little apart. Packed tight, the inner stems lose color first and then drop their leaves.
- For the standard species at the same care level, see Alternanthera reineckii.

Customers praised this aquatic plant for its "super magenta" vibrant color and fast growth, noting it "grows like weeds" and adds amazing color to tanks. Most received healthy plants with minimal melt. Some mentioned slow root establishment and occasional floating. A few noted twisted stems upon arrival or less vibrant coloring initially, though plants remained hardy.

Was surprised by how brightly colored these are. They are true stunners. These seem to be slow to establish roots. I keep finding them floating at the top of the tank and then I have to replant them. They seem hardy though, getting tossed around by the filter has not bothered them too much. Hoping they'll settle and start seeing some growth.
M
The plants arrived alive but the leaves and stems were very twisted which leads me to believe they were cut some time before shipping or they just were tossed around a lot during their 5 day travel. They were also not 'super magenta'. I hope they'll straighten out and put some roots out.

From ordering to receiving my plants took only 3 days. All were packaged well and arrived perfect even though the temps near me were in the 30’s.
These plants are growing so bright and like a weed. The above picture is immediately upon planting them. The below picture is now about 2 weeks later. I love the pop of color in my aquarium.

Received the plant on Nov. 4th, 2022.
I've attached a picture of the plants taken on Nov. 5th and the same plants again on Dec. 3rd, 2022; two pictures in total.
I believed a total of 3 leaves melted. It's actually looked very nice right now but sorry that I didn't upload a latest picture.
