Bucephalandra Green Godzilla

Format: Rooted Bunched

Price
$12.99

Green Godzilla carries long, round, wavy leaves in dark green over stems that flush pink, red or orange — the color sits on the stem rather than the leaf, which is unusual in the genus.

Grower's Notes

  • Never bury the rhizome. Tie or glue the horizontal stem to wood or rock and leave it in open water. Buried, it rots — and at an inch of growth a year the loss is not recoverable in a season.
  • The color is on the stems. Leaves stay dark green; the pink-to-orange tone runs through the petioles. Mount it where the stems are visible rather than hidden under foliage.
  • Farm-raised, not wild-collected. All the Bucephalandra we carry is farm-grown, and much of it is raised from tissue culture rather than collected from Borneo.
  • Lava rock is its natural surface. Bucephalandra grows on rock in fast-flowing streams. Porous stone gives the roots more to grip than smooth glass or resin decor.
  • Melt after shipping is normal. Some leaves may drop in the first fortnight. Leave the plant attached and undisturbed — new growth comes from the rhizome, not the old leaves.

Good wabi kusa plant

Grows well in a wabi kusa set up, flowers pretty easily in that environment as well.

Great plants

The bunch I ordered had 3 or 4 separate plants that were very happy and healthy. One plant already has a bud forming.

Great Shape

Green Godzilla received had some great leaves and they haven’t melted yet. Small sized loose plant had enough rhizome to do its thing.
