Echinodorus parviflorus ‘Tropica’

Emerged Growth: Bare-root Plants

Price
$12.99

A sword that stays in proportion. Echinodorus parviflorus 'Tropica' grows dark green, distinctly ribbed leaves in a tight low rosette — the same fountain shape as an Amazon Sword at roughly half the footprint. It gives you a sword centerpiece in a tank that couldn't house one.

  • Bare-root plants | 1 loose rooted plants
  • Bunched plants | 1-2 rooted plants bundle with foam, and lead weight

  • Also known asEchinodorus grisebachii 'Tropica', Rosette Sword, Dwarf Amazon Sword
  • Origin — South America
  • Placement — Midground to background
  • Mature height — 8–14 in
  • Growth rate — Medium

Care

  • Difficulty — Beginner

  • CO₂ — Not required
  • Water — 68–82°F · pH 6.5–7.5

  • Propagation — Adventitious plantlets on flower stalks

Grower's Notes

  • The compact size is the whole argument. A standard Amazon Sword overwhelms anything under 30 gallons. 'Tropica' holds the same silhouette without taking the tank over — which is why it works as a solitary specimen in a medium tank or a loose group in a large one.
  • Feed at the roots. Swords take most of their nutrition from the substrate; root tabs under the crown matter more than liquid dosing.
  • Plant the crown at substrate level, never below. Buried crowns rot.
  • Expect the first leaves to melt as it converts from emersed nursery growth — the second flush is the submerged form.
  • It propagates from flower stalks, not runners. A settled plant sends up an inflorescence carrying plantlets. Let each root and grow three or four leaves, then cut it free and plant it separately.

Notes

  • Pictures are not the actual plants you will receive, but a sample representation. Unless specific, we don't guarantee aquatic plants will be free of pests, and pesticides, grow emerged, or submerge.
  • Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.

What We Guarantee

24-Hour Live Arrival Guarantee — We guarantee that live plants and live aquatic animals will arrive alive. In the rare case of a Dead on Arrival (DOA), you must notify us within 24 hours of the delivery time recorded on the carrier's official tracking page. The guarantee is void after that 24-hour window, as condition can no longer be attributed to transit.

How to Submit a Claim

  1. Take at least 2 clear, well-lit photos of the affected items in their original, unopened, sealed packaging, plus a photo of the shipping label on the box.
  2. Email your photos and order number to hello@aquariumplantsfactory.com within 24 hours of delivery.
  3. Do not photograph plants or animals after they have been unpacked, planted, or introduced to your aquarium — once an item enters your aquarium's ecosystem, it is no longer covered.

Approved claims are resolved with a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion, under the terms of our Refund Policy. Each item is eligible for one replacement only — replacements are final and we cannot replace a replacement.

Conditions That Void the Guarantee

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping address (vacant address, missing apartment number, or any issue that prevents delivery)
  • Packages marked "invalid address," "undeliverable," refused, or returned to sender
  • Packages left unclaimed, held at a carrier facility at the customer's request, or not retrieved promptly after delivery — live goods must be brought indoors and unpacked the day they arrive
  • Carrier delays, weather events, or delivery exceptions once the package has left our facility
  • Shipments to freight forwarders or package-forwarding services

Providing accurate, complete shipping information and monitoring your tracking are essential to keeping your guarantee valid.

Please note: the Live Arrival Guarantee covers arrival only. We cannot guarantee ongoing success — aquarium environment, water quality, nutrients, temperature, lighting, filtration, and CO2 all affect long-term results.

What We Can't Guarantee

  1. Pest-free plants (potted & bare-root): Although our plants are grown in our own clean greenhouse, we cannot guarantee they are 100% free of snails, algae, or other hitchhikers. We recommend rinsing and quarantining all plants before adding them to your aquarium. Tissue culture (in vitro) plants are the exception — they are grown in sterile lab conditions, are 100% free of pests, algae, and disease, and have never been in contact with any aquarium.
  2. Pesticide-free plants: We use homemade, organic pest control in our greenhouse and never use copper-based pesticides, which are toxic to invertebrates such as snails, crabs, and shrimp. However, we cannot guarantee plants are entirely pesticide-free — always rinse and quarantine before use in invertebrate tanks.
  3. Your aquarium's success: We are not responsible for your aquarium inhabitants, including fish, shrimp, snails, and turtles. Please quarantine all plants before use.
  4. Growth form: Unless specified, we do not guarantee plants will grow emersed or submersed in your particular setup.

Please review your state's regulations on restricted plants, as we are committed to not shipping plants that are restricted in your area. Do not release any plants into the wild or waterways, as this can harm local ecosystems by introducing invasive species.

Your cooperation in protecting the environment is appreciated. For continuously updated information, refer to the USDA State Noxious Weed list here.

Thank you for your responsible commitment to environmental preservation.

Just what I needed.

I had trouble finding this on most sites. I was happy that what I received more than matched the photos. They came in healthy and full. Even to the point I divided some of them and still got good coverage in my tank. I will definitely be ordering again.

Perfect size, perfect plant, can’t pass.

My favorite purchase so far!! These stand out and are perfect for a smaller tank compared to the regular size. Can’t wait for them to grow out, and I’m absolutely satisfied with my order and will definitely come back for more!

Great addition to my tank!

My tank was looking kind of bare with only small plants so i knew i needed something to fill up some space in the tank so i went with this. I decided to place it in the rear right corner of the tank and it looks really good! I removed the ring around the base so that the plant opened up a bit which i think was a good move. Now just to wait and see how it holds up. I have planted this Dwarf Echinodorus Parviflorus during my tanks Dry Start Method(DSM) so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it does well until i decide to flood the tank.

Healthy Plants

The plants arrived and looked to be in great condition. I unbundled the plants from the lead weights and there were 2-3 plants in each bundle. So far very happy with them.

Not sure...

Plants arrived and look great but i ordered Dwarf Echinodorus Parviflorus which is only supposed to get like 6 inches max, these are already about 8-9 inches. Really needed a short plant for the nano, guess these will go into my 150g instead. But plants do look great otherwise.

Bright green and healthy

Plants arrived healthy and robust. Beautiful addition to my 75 gallon tank. I was able to separate out several plants from a single bunch. Great company.

Arrived healthy

The plant was actually two plants, and the base was wrapped in a foam wrapper around both stems. The roots had grown through the foam, so it was a bit of work to remove the foam without harming the roots. The product also shipped with a good bit of very thin lead - plenty to hold the plants down in the tank. So far so good! I'm a first time buyer.

Everything well packed. These plants were not quite as good as the other ones in my order but it's not a complaint- as another reviewer stated there were three plants in each banded bunch so I feel that I definitely got my money's worth. When I unwrapped them several of them had rotten crowns and had to be discarded. The others looked nice and will be a great addition to my tank.

Gorgeous!

These Dwarf Sword are so beautiful! They are doing extremely well and appear to be very healthy. I’ll definitely be purchasing these again!

More than I bargained for!

So I got the 'buy 2 get 1' dwarf sword for a nano tank. Each plant was a 'bunch' of 3. So it was more like 'buy 2 get 9'. Long story short... my 55 also has new plants!

Gorgeous!

These arrived to frigid Wisconsin packed for the weather, healthy, and looking great. Couldn't be happier, and will absolutely be a returning customer.
