Grower's Notes
- New leaves carry the color. Pink appears on emerging growth and fades toward green as each leaf ages. A healthy plant therefore shows pink at the center and green at the outside — that is normal, not a deficiency.
- Feed at the roots. Swords take almost everything through their roots, and liquid fertilizer does very little. Small pale new leaves means root nutrition nine times out of ten.
- Plant the crown at the substrate line, never below it. A buried crown rots.
- It propagates from flower stalks, not runners. A mature plant sends a stalk up or arching across the tank with plantlets along its length. Let each develop three or four leaves and roots before cutting it free.
- Expect the emersed leaves to melt back as it converts. Judge the color on the growth that replaces them.

This astonishingly gorgeous sword has some of the most vivid and bright reds I've seen in any echinodorus. I've bought several of these plants from APF and all have been transitioning well to submerged growth. Thus far, the largest leaf any of them have produced is only about 6" so it does appear this plant will end up on the smaller side of most swords. Do yourself a favor and buy some of this.

My order came 2 days earlier than expected and the plants were in excellent condition. They were large with well developed root systems. I've had orders from other sellers arrive with small plants having an underdeveloped root system - they seldom survived. These are winners!

These came with browning leaves , to be expected, however they were well rooted and the new growth is absolutely beautiful. Very purple leaves are emerging. I love the contrast this gives the little aquatic world I am creating for my angels.

I bought this as a potted pant and it shipped well, arrived very healthy. It took a little more than two weeks to transition to submerged and then it started putting out new leaves. The colours are vibrant and the entire leaf but not all the leaves will be that vibrant pink color. My tank is high tech so its under high lighting just below 200 PAR and I planted it with a fluval root tab which i think helped it transition I had some swords before but they did not do well even with co2 and PPS Pro dosing daily I'm still doing that but this time i used root tabs and was successful. Aquarium Plants Factory are the best ! thank you for giving me opportunity to own such amazing plants
