Grower's Notes
- The water parameters are the gatekeeper. Eriocaulon feed heavily at the root in soft, acidic substrate and dislike warmth. Get pH, softness and temperature right and the plant is undemanding day to day; get them wrong and no amount of light or dosing rescues it.
- Plant the crown at substrate level and don't disturb it. Eriocaulon build a dense root mass and resent being moved.
- Root tabs under the crown do far more than water-column dosing.
- It divides, it does not run. Daughter crowns appear beside the parent over time — separate them only once each has its own roots.
- If you want the same grassy rosette without the parameter demands, Helanthium tenellum gives a similar look in ordinary tap water.
