Collection: Aegagropila

Discover the serene beauty and natural charm of the Aegagropila Collection, featuring the beloved Marimo Moss Ball and related green algae forms. Belonging to the species Aegagropila linnaei, these velvety green spheres are not actually moss—but a rare form of filamentous algae that naturally forms into compact, ball-like shapes in the cool, clean lakes of Japan, Iceland, and parts of Northern Europe.

Marimo Moss Balls are more than just decorative. They’re also functional, helping absorb excess nutrients in your tank and providing gentle movement and texture in both aquariums and desktop terrariums. This collection includes multiple sizes and unique presentations—whether loose, grouped, or paired with hardscape—for aquascaping, shrimp tanks, betta bowls, and nano aquariums.
