Grower's Notes
- Expect roughly an inch of growth per year. Bucephalandra is one of the slowest plants in the hobby. Whatever species you receive will hold its size and shape for a long time — which is exactly why aquascapers use it on permanent hardscape.
- Never bury the rhizome. The horizontal stem must sit in open water, tied or glued to a surface. Buried, it rots, and a plant this slow does not grow back from that in a season.
- You cannot request a species. We do not label these and cannot swap them. If you need a specific variety, buy it as a named listing — this bag exists to be good value, not to be chosen from.
- Keep the light modest. Slow growth means algae gets there first under strong lighting. Low to medium light gives cleaner leaves and better color on most Buce.
- Separate the four plantlets before attaching. Rinse the gel off and split them apart. Spread across a piece of wood they knit together far better than one lump glued in place.

The leaves were dense and healthy and I was able to get like 8 clumps from this. It was only about 40% more than a single non-tissue culture plant, but had three times as many clumps. Don’t waste your money on a single, specific variety. Just buy this and be happy.

I'm new to a planted aquarium. I knew I wanted live plants but the varieties are a bit daunting. I setup a 55gal tank with CO2 generator and 5,000 lumens of light. Plants are forming oxygen bubbles and appear healthy. Fish seem happier with more to swim around. Only been a week, but everything looks great to me!

Great value but keep in mind the plants are tiny. That being said there's a lot in each bag. I bought 2 and was able to break them up into at least 6 mini clumps each! They filled in a lot of the gaps in my Dragon Stone!
