One Amazon Sword fills a corner. Twenty fill a wall. Echinodorus bleheri is the standard background plant of the hobby — broad ribbed green blades, no CO₂ needed, and tough enough for cichlid and community tanks. This is the bulk pack, for furnishing a large aquarium or a shop in one go.

Fresh, healthy Amazon Sword (Echinodorus bleheri) cultivated and prepared by Aquarium Plants Factory®.

Each bundle is rooted and secured with aquarium-safe foam and a plant weight, containing approximately 1–2 healthy plants per bunch.

Care

Grower's Notes

• Space them wider than you think. A mature Amazon Sword spreads a foot across. Twenty planted at four-inch spacing will shade each other out within a year — plant for the size they reach, not the size they arrive at, and use the spare plants elsewhere.
• Bulk buying only pays if the substrate can feed them. Twenty heavy root feeders in inert gravel will all yellow together. Budget for root tabs across the whole planted area, or use aquasoil.
• Give them depth. Three inches of substrate, crown set at the surface and never below. The root mass is substantial and a shallow bed stunts the whole planting.
• Expect a transition. These are grown emersed, so some arriving leaves will die back as the plants convert to submerged growth. New leaves follow from the crown.
• They propagate themselves. Settled plants throw tall floral stalks carrying plantlets. Leave each one attached until it has four or five leaves and its own roots, then cut it free — a bulk planting becomes self-replacing within a year.
