Anubias Barteri Broad Leaf

Coverage, not detail. Anubias barteri 'Broad Leaf' grows large, rounded leaves that overlap into a dense mass — so a single plant fills a piece of driftwood that would take three or four nano Anubias to cover. Every bit as tough as the rest of the genus.

Grower’s Notes

• Big leaves are cheaper coverage. Anubias is priced by plant, not by area. On a large piece of wood, Broad Leaf covers the same ground as several nano plants for less — the practical reason to choose it over Petite or Nana.
• Never bury the rhizome. Attach it with thread or aquarium-safe glue; buried rhizomes rot.
• Broad flat leaves are good grazing surface for shrimp and good shade for fish that dislike bright light.
• Slow growth means damaged leaves never recover — trim them off at the rhizome rather than waiting.
• Divide with a clean blade, keeping at least three leaves and some roots per section.
