Thick dark green leaves that ripple and curl along their length. Anubias 'Rainforest' trades the flat, glossy outline of a standard barteri for a rugged, textured leaf that reads as depth in a scape rather than as another green mass.

Grower's Notes

• The texture is the point. Most Anubias give a scape flat green planes. The curled, rippled surface of 'Rainforest' catches light unevenly and creates shadow, which is what makes a low-tech tank look layered rather than plain.
• Textured leaves hold more debris. The same ripples that catch light also catch detritus. Aim gentle flow across the plant and give it a light thumb-and-finger wipe at water changes.
• Never bury the rhizome. Roots may go into substrate; the thick horizontal stem must stay in open water or it rots.
• Keep the light low to moderate. Anubias grows too slowly to outgrow algae — shade is what keeps the leaves clean, not the plant's own vigor.
• Divide with a clean blade, keeping three or more leaves and some roots per section, then attach each piece to its own rock or branch.

Notes

Do not bury the rhizome in substrate. Keep it exposed and attached to hardscape for best results. Some minor leaf curling or cosmetic marks may occur during shipping but will not affect overall plant health.
