Anubias Striped Vitro Culture

Anubias barteri 'Striped' carries broad dark green leaves marked by pale veining that runs the length of the blade — detail you notice up close, on a plant as tough as any other barteri. Because this is veining rather than lost pigment, it stays a beginner plant. This is the sterile Vitro Culture® (tissue culture) format.

Grower's Notes

• Veining is not variegation. The pale stripes are vein structure showing through, not missing chlorophyll — so unlike white-marbled Anubias such as Pinto or Panda Marble, Striped grows and recovers like an ordinary barteri. Pattern without the difficulty.
• It is a full-size barteri, not a nano plant. At six to ten inches it belongs in the midground with room around it, despite the small plantlets you receive.
• Never bury the rhizome. Roots can go into substrate; the rhizome cannot. Buried, it rots.
• Rinse the gel off with aquarium or dechlorinated water, not tap, and separate the plantlets before attaching.
• Thick leaves resist nibbling, so it holds up in tanks with cichlids, plecos and goldfish.
