Anubias Golden (Small Size)

Bright yellow-green leaves in a genus that is otherwise uniformly dark. Anubias Golden pushes new growth in a golden-lime tone that deepens toward green as each leaf matures. This is the young grade — small now, growing into full size in your tank.

Care

• Difficulty — Beginner
• Light — Low to medium. Shade suits it; strong light means algae on slow-turning leaves.
• CO₂ — Not required. Occasional liquid fertilizer deepens the color.
• Water — 72-82°F, pH 6.0-7.5
• Substrate — Not required. Epiphyte — attach the rhizome to wood or stone and never bury it.
• Growth habit — Amphibious; also grows emersed

Grower's Notes

• The gold is new growth, not variegation. Each leaf emerges pale golden-lime and darkens with age, so the color sits at the growing tip. That also means it is normally pigmented — no harder to grow than any other Anubias.
• Place it against something dark. The pale new growth is the whole point and it disappears against light sand or pale stone. Dark wood or black lava rock is where it earns its price.
• Buy small when you need several. Anubias adds roughly a leaf a month at any size, so a group bought young costs a fraction and catches up within a year.
• Never bury the rhizome. Roots can go into substrate; the rhizome cannot. Buried, it rots.
• Lab-grown means no snails, no algae and no pesticide residue — safe for a shrimp tank with no quarantine.
