Anubias Petite White

Emersed Growth: Bare-root Plants

Price
$15.99

Want white in a plant that survives a low-tech tank? Anubias Petite White carries irregular white variegation across small dark-edged leaves — one of the rarest Anubias in the trade, on the same tough rhizome as every other Anubias. The variegation is what makes it valuable, and what makes it demanding.

What You’ll Receive

  • One of the rarest Anubias on the market
  • Sold as Bare-root plants or Potted plants
  • 10+ leaves each portion

Plant Profile

  • Common name — Petite White Anubias
  • Scientific nameAnubias barteri var. nana 'Petite White'
  • Placement — Midground to foreground, on wood or stone
  • Mature height — 2–4 in
  • Growth rate — Very slow

Care

  • Difficulty — Advanced
  • Light — Low to medium. Bright light scorches the white tissue and feeds algae
  • CO₂ — Not required
  • Water — 72–82°F · pH 6.0–7.5
  • Substrate — Not required. Attaches to hardscape
  • Growth habit — Amphibious. Also grows emersed
  • Propagation — Rhizome division

Grower’s Notes

  • Variegated means less chlorophyll, which means less margin. The white areas of each leaf cannot photosynthesize, so the plant runs on less energy than a standard Petite and is slower and less forgiving. This is why it is rated Advanced despite Anubias being famously hardy.
  • It can revert. Variegated Anubias may begin producing plain green leaves and lose the white over time. This is a known trait of variegated plants, not a defect. Remove any fully green shoots promptly — green growth photosynthesizes better and will gradually take over the plant if left.
  • Never bury the rhizome. Roots can go into substrate; the rhizome cannot. Buried, it rots.
  • Keep it shaded and keep the leaves clean. Slow growth means algae settles on white tissue faster than the plant replaces the leaf, and algae is far more visible on white than on green.
  • Divide with a clean blade, keeping at least three leaves per section.

Notes

  • Pictures are not the actual plants you will receive, but a sample representation. Unless specific, we don't guarantee aquatic plants will be free of pests, and pesticides, grow emerged, or submerge.
  • Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.

What We Guarantee

24-Hour Live Arrival Guarantee — We guarantee that live plants and live aquatic animals will arrive alive. In the rare case of a Dead on Arrival (DOA), you must notify us within 24 hours of the delivery time recorded on the carrier's official tracking page. The guarantee is void after that 24-hour window, as condition can no longer be attributed to transit.

How to Submit a Claim

  1. Take at least 2 clear, well-lit photos of the affected items in their original, unopened, sealed packaging, plus a photo of the shipping label on the box.
  2. Email your photos and order number to hello@aquariumplantsfactory.com within 24 hours of delivery.
  3. Do not photograph plants or animals after they have been unpacked, planted, or introduced to your aquarium — once an item enters your aquarium's ecosystem, it is no longer covered.

Approved claims are resolved with a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion, under the terms of our Refund Policy. Each item is eligible for one replacement only — replacements are final and we cannot replace a replacement.

Conditions That Void the Guarantee

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping address (vacant address, missing apartment number, or any issue that prevents delivery)
  • Packages marked "invalid address," "undeliverable," refused, or returned to sender
  • Packages left unclaimed, held at a carrier facility at the customer's request, or not retrieved promptly after delivery — live goods must be brought indoors and unpacked the day they arrive
  • Carrier delays, weather events, or delivery exceptions once the package has left our facility
  • Shipments to freight forwarders or package-forwarding services

Providing accurate, complete shipping information and monitoring your tracking are essential to keeping your guarantee valid.

Please note: the Live Arrival Guarantee covers arrival only. We cannot guarantee ongoing success — aquarium environment, water quality, nutrients, temperature, lighting, filtration, and CO2 all affect long-term results.

What We Can't Guarantee

  1. Pest-free plants (potted & bare-root): Although our plants are grown in our own clean greenhouse, we cannot guarantee they are 100% free of snails, algae, or other hitchhikers. We recommend rinsing and quarantining all plants before adding them to your aquarium. Tissue culture (in vitro) plants are the exception — they are grown in sterile lab conditions, are 100% free of pests, algae, and disease, and have never been in contact with any aquarium.
  2. Pesticide-free plants: We use homemade, organic pest control in our greenhouse and never use copper-based pesticides, which are toxic to invertebrates such as snails, crabs, and shrimp. However, we cannot guarantee plants are entirely pesticide-free — always rinse and quarantine before use in invertebrate tanks.
  3. Your aquarium's success: We are not responsible for your aquarium inhabitants, including fish, shrimp, snails, and turtles. Please quarantine all plants before use.
  4. Growth form: Unless specified, we do not guarantee plants will grow emersed or submersed in your particular setup.

Please review your state's regulations on restricted plants, as we are committed to not shipping plants that are restricted in your area. Do not release any plants into the wild or waterways, as this can harm local ecosystems by introducing invasive species.

Your cooperation in protecting the environment is appreciated. For continuously updated information, refer to the USDA State Noxious Weed list here.

Thank you for your responsible commitment to environmental preservation.

Customers praised this striking aquatic plant for its "creamy white" contrast against green foliage. Most received healthy specimens with strong roots and minimal melting. One shopper noted "the white is quite striking." However, some mentioned delivery issues with damaged clusters, and several felt the price was high, though many said it's "worth it."

Good product

It arrived in 4 days from when I made the purchase. They all came in great quality, they were bunched up which made them hard to separate but other than that I was pleased with my purchase.

Awesome plants

This was my first time ordering from this company, but everything came in, packaged beautifully and healthy. I left them in water for about a week before I could get to plant them on my driftwood. They lasted greatly and look great. Can’t wait to see they look like as they get larger.

Too Big

When I ordered three pieces, I expect to get three, not five, and not with a rizome as thick as my pinky. These pieces are simply too big for the price.

Snowball

My baby's arrival was fast 2 days from order.
I love how plants look and "feel" very healthy.
I ordered tissue culture cup and arrived in good shape but I think there should be at least 2-3 more plants.
I got it on sale for 29,99 and original price is 99$ and I would never spend that much money on it. People making comments about being small are wrong this is petite anubia and I think perfect size on arrival.
Got a lot of plants unfortunately they didn't send me flamingo crypt that was free gift with code PINKBIRD.

Beautiful

Gorgeous and unique anubias! I randomly stumbled upon this site and was blown away by the selection. Also it's very local to me and I prefer to support local small businesses whenever I can.

I was very impressed with the plant upon delivery. My piece was perfectly healthy with around 12 leaves. 10 of those were pure white! Such a great find and awesome customer service.

I already ordered another plant. This time the anubias pinto. I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

Delivered 6/29 with 7 other plants. I did get 2 clusters but only one pulled through and it is literally hanging on by a single leaf.

Got bigger bunch than expected.

Came with many leaves and nice long roots. Good couple of leaves with some green on them too to help with chlorophyll. Thanks much!

Eye-catching little beauties!

This variant has mostly white leaves with some variegated and will draw attention no matter where it's placed in the aquarium. I can't keep anything "red" alive but this is the easy button for contrast in a sea of green. Seriously beautiful plants! Thank you APF!!
