The famous white Anubias, in a starter size. Anubias barteri var. nana 'Pinto' splits its leaves between white and green in bold irregular patches. This listing is the small, young grade — easier on the wallet, easier to place in a nano tank, and it grows into full size in your aquarium over time.

Grower's Notes

• White tissue does no photosynthesis. A heavily white Pinto runs on a fraction of the energy a green Anubias makes — slower growth, slower recovery, less margin for error. That is what puts it a step above a plain Anubias rather than in beginner territory.
• It can revert. Under poor conditions the plant may start pushing plain green leaves to compensate for lost pigment.
• Small size is an advantage here — young plants adapt to new water faster than large established rhizomes, which is why this grade often settles in more easily.
• Never bury the rhizome. Glue or tie it to wood or stone; buried rhizomes rot.
• Keep light moderate. White tissue burns and attracts algae faster than green tissue does.
