Grower's Notes
- The texture is the reason to buy it. Boivinianus carries the heaviest crinkling in the genus, and it holds that texture at size — where many textured plants smooth out as the leaves mature. Site it where side lighting rakes across the leaf.
- Set the bulb on the substrate, don't bury it. Leave the top third exposed; buried bulbs rot.
- A dormant rest is normal. The plant dies back and returns. Leave the bulb in place.
- Minor leaf melt during acclimation is expected as it converts to your water. New growth follows.
- Root tabs matter. A large fast-growing bulb plant runs through its reserves quickly and then stalls in inert gravel.
