Rare variegation without the difficulty. Bacopa caroliniana 'Variegated' marbles the thick, rounded leaves of classic Lemon Bacopa with creamy white — and keeps the parent's hardiness. Crush a leaf and it still carries the faint lemon scent the species is named for.

Grower’s Notes

• Variegated but not fragile. Most white-marbled plants are slow, demanding things. Bacopa caroliniana is one of the toughest stems in the hobby and the variegated form keeps that — rare looks on a plant that tolerates a beginner's tank.
• It can revert. Plain green shoots may appear and, because they photosynthesize better, will gradually take over. Trim reverted stems out as you spot them.
• It grows slowly for a Bacopa, so it holds its place in a scape instead of needing weekly trimming.
• Trim and replant tops to build a group; cuttings root readily.
