Bacopa caroliniana, also known as Lemon Bacopa, is a slow-growing, aromatic stem plant prized for its rich green foliage, citrusy scent, and ease of care. Native to the southeastern United States, this versatile aquatic plant is perfect for aquascapers looking to add vertical structure, soft texture, and subtle coloration to their layout.
At Aquarium Plants Factory Nursery, we cultivate Bacopa caroliniana in its emersed form, where the leaves remain bright to olive green in color. Once introduced into your aquarium and grown submerged, the leaves may develop pink to reddish hues under strong lighting—adding a beautiful color transition and contrast to nature-style or Dutch-style aquascapes.
Its upright, bushy growth makes it ideal for midground or background placement, offering shelter for small fish, fry, and shrimp. This adaptable plant also thrives in paludariums and ripariums, transitioning seamlessly between submerged and emersed environments. Whether you're building a traditional aquarium or a more complex display, Bacopa caroliniana brings both structure and tranquility to your underwater world.
