Want a stem plant that smells of lemon? Bacopa caroliniana genuinely does — crush a leaf and it releases a citrus scent, most noticeable on emersed growth. Underwater it is a slow, upright, thick-leaved plant that turns pink to red at the tips under strong light.

Grower’s Notes
- Slow growth is the selling point. Unlike most stems it does not need weekly trimming to stay presentable, which makes it one of the few background plants that suits a low-maintenance tank.
- The thick succulent leaves let it ride out swings that thin-leaved stems will not — part of why it is so hard to kill.
- It arrives green. Pink and red develop in the upper leaves after it converts to submerged growth, and only under decent light.
- Trim above a leaf pair and replant the tops. Because it grows slowly, take cuttings rather than waiting for a single stem to fill a space.
- Also available as 'Variegated' for cream-marbled leaves, and as sterile Vitro Culture.

Customers praised the aquatic plant as "healthy" with a pleasant lemon/mint fragrance. Most reported fast growth and easy acclimation, with one noting it grew 4 inches in 13 days. While the majority arrived in excellent condition, some experienced leaf melting during transition. One customer noted snail contamination, and stem quantity occasionally disappointed.
- I can't believe how nice this plant smells - strong lemon.
- Nice plants with an interesting lime green color. Bug-free!!!
- It has grown about 4 inches in the 13 days I've had it

Easy to grow , I love it
S
I was disappointed in the number of stems included, but the quality was high enough that I felt it was fair. I dumped these straight under water. A fair few of the leaves died off, but that's to be expected with emmersed growth.
I'm using these as a background plant, and therefore do not have many images of it in focus on-hand.
You can see one here in the corner with some Rotala H'ra from the same shipment. It has grown about 4 inches in the 13 days I've had it and the new leaves are small and beautiful.

Great number of plants. Healthy.
M
Very healthy and easy to plant, came with no roots and a week after I haven't seen any development on that but they're overall doing great. Good buy.
M
Received the plant on Nov. 4th, 2022. The plants sure grow fast!
I've attached a picture of the plants taken on Nov. 5th and the same plants again on Dec. 3rd, 2022.
None of the plants' leaves melted.

Awesome healthy plants
K
They arrived very healthy and all had some big stems! I did lose quite a few when they where planted but I'm not worried as these can easily be reproduced. They have been growing fairly quickly as well, very happy!
J
They are a bit darker green then shown but all were firm and healthy will update in 3 months on growth hoping for them to breach the surface and flower
D
I can't believe how nice this plants smells - strong lemon. Hope the fish get to enjoy the fragrance in the tank. Growing well.
c
All the plants that arrived healthy are doing great and look wonderful. Unfortunately I was too trusting that these would be snail-free, and now my tank has many little unwanted snails in my tank. I won't be buying from this site again.
H

J
The plants came in great shape. Got them planted. Hopefully they will do well.
M
my plants came very well packaged to keep them from getting damaged, they sat in my mailbox most the day because I was at work and the packaging kept them from getting too hot. i got them settled and cooled off before putting them in the tank and so far they look to be doing great! Only one of the five stems had some damage and it only lost a single leaf.
10/10 will be using this site for plants again

I got my order today, Plants were amazingly packed for the long trip across the USA. I was concerned with the USPS being the carrier that I would get dead plants. The team at ADF made sure that did not happen! The plants where healthy and even showed new roots in transit. I am looking forward to my next order!
A

J
Plants arrived in great condition, shorter stems than I expected but enough to propagate in my aquarium. It's been a week and they are looking good! can't wait for them to grow
W
Stems arrived in great shape. All look fresh and healthy.
E
Beautiful plants, arrived quick and converted easily. I'm not sure why this plant is classified as slow to medium growth when I need to trim some every week even in my low tech setup. Six stems quickly became many many more.
N
Received the stems very quickly despite nationwide shipping delays. They were in great shape and the color was a vibrant light green.
