Bacopa monnieri 'Serrata' keeps everything that makes the species reliable — thick leaves, no CO₂ needed, tolerant of hard water — and swaps the smooth rounded leaf for a slightly elongated one with serrated margins. Planted next to standard Moneywort the difference is obvious and the care is identical.

Grower's Notes

• Plant it beside the smooth form. The serration is a subtle detail that reads best as contrast — a group of 'Serrata' next to standard Bacopa monnieri gives two leaf textures under identical care, which is a rare thing in one species.
• Higher light sharpens the toothed margins. Under low light it still grows well but the detail softens.
• Trim above a leaf pair and the stem branches into two — regular topping builds a bush rather than a row of poles.
• Replant the cut tops; they root within days.
• It tolerates harder, more alkaline water than most stem plants, like the rest of the species.

Notes
