Chasing dark red in a low-light tank? Bucephalandra 'Kedagang Red' — sold in the hobby as Buce Red Godzilla — carries narrow, slightly twisted leaves that hold deep red-violet tones with a blue iridescent sheen under stronger light. Kedagang is the plant; Godzilla is the trade name, and the color is what separates one Kedagang from another. This is the sterile Vitro Culture® format.

Grower's Notes

• Godzilla means Kedagang. The Godzilla name travels with several Kedagang color forms — red, pink and others. It is the same plant type; color is the differentiator, so buy on the color you want rather than the name.
• Never bury the rhizome. Glue or tie it to rock or wood; buried rhizomes rot.
• The blue sheen is structural, not pigment — it shifts with viewing angle and lighting, and it doesn't mean the plant is any harder to keep.
• Growth is measured in months, not weeks. That slowness is why Buce holds its shape in a scape for years without trimming.
• Farm-raised, not wild-collected. All the Bucephalandra we carry is farm-grown, and much of it is raised from tissue culture rather than collected from Borneo.
