Grower's Notes

• Tissue culture is the clean way to buy Buce. Wild-collected and pond-grown rhizomes are the usual route for snails and algae into a shrimp tank. This arrives sterile, which matters more on a plant you intend to leave attached for years.
• Never bury the rhizome. Tie or glue the horizontal stem to wood or rock and leave it in open water. Buried, it rots, and a plant growing an inch a year does not come back quickly.
• You cannot request a species. Every bag is picked at random and shipped unlabeled. If you need a particular variety, buy it as a named listing — this exists to be good value, not to be chosen from.
• Separate the four plantlets before attaching. Rinse the gel off and spread them across your hardscape. They knit together far better than one lump glued in place.
• Keep the light modest. Slow growth means algae gets there first under strong lighting. Low to medium light gives cleaner leaves and better color on nearly every Buce.
