Cryptocoryne Parva Mini

The smallest Crypt there is. Cryptocoryne parva is already the tiniest species in the genus; Parva Mini is smaller again — a 1–3 inch foreground plant that grows tight to the substrate and needs neither strong light nor CO₂. In a nano tank it sets the scale that makes everything else look bigger.

Grower’s Notes

• A carpet for people who can't run CO₂. Parva Mini spreads slowly but it will fill a low foreground in conditions where Dwarf Baby Tears and hairgrass fail. Slow is the trade-off, not difficulty.
• Plant it in small clumps an inch apart and let the runners close the gaps. Expect months, not weeks.
• Shrimp graze algae off it without damaging it — which matters on a plant too small to trim.
• Expect some melt after planting; Crypts rebuild from the roots over two to four weeks.
