Wavy edges, bronze-red leaves. Cryptocoryne undulatus 'Red' — the wavy leaf crypt — grows narrow, strongly undulating leaves that color reddish to bronze under decent light and nutrients. Movement in the leaf edge plus warm color, on a plant that asks for neither CO₂ nor strong lighting. This is the sterile Vitro Culture® format.

Grower’s Notes

• Color without difficulty. The red Crypts that get talked about — Flamingo, Albida 'Red' — are Advanced plants. Undulatus 'Red' gives you warm bronze-red on a beginner plant, which makes it a sensible first colored Crypt.
• Expect melt after planting. Crypts drop their leaves on a change of conditions and rebuild from the roots over two to four weeks. Leave them alone.
• Place it once. Every move triggers another melt.
• Feed at the roots — root tabs under the crown do more than any liquid dosing.
• Rinse the gel off completely before planting or it clouds water and feeds algae early on.
