Echinodorus uruguayensis is a highly variable and time-honored species within the aquarium hobby, known under numerous synonyms and trade names including E. africanus, E. horemanii, E. veronikae, and E. viridis. Native to the cooler, fast-flowing rivers of southeastern South America, this species is cherished for its long, flexible, ribbon-like leaves and its many color forms—ranging from medium green to deep red and even blackish hues.

Now available in our sterile Vitro Culture® 4-inch bag, E. uruguayensis is tissue-cultured for a 100% algae-free, snail-free, and pesticide-free start. This makes it ideal for sensitive aquariums, planted displays, and collectors seeking rare genetic lines of this classic sword plant.
