  • Hardy and Low Maintenance: This plant is exceptionally hardy and thrives in a wide range of water conditions, making it an excellent choice for both novice and experienced aquarists.

Optimal Growing Conditions

  • Lighting: Prefers low to moderate lighting, which helps to prevent algae growth on its leaves. It can thrive with 8 to 10 hours of light per day.
  • Temperature: Ideal water temperature ranges from 72°F to 82°F (22°C to 28°C).
  • pH Level: Tolerates a pH range of 6.0 to 8.0, with slightly acidic to neutral water being optimal.
  • Water Hardness: Adaptable to various levels of water hardness, with a preference for a range of 3 to 8 dGH.
  • CO2 and Fertilization: While CO2 supplementation is not necessary, it can enhance growth. Regular fertilization with liquid fertilizers containing essential micronutrients like iron, manganese, and zinc is beneficial.

Planting and Care

  • Substrate and Attachment: Anubias Minima can be planted in nutrient-rich substrate or attached to hardscape elements such as driftwood and rocks. Ensure that the rhizome remains above the substrate to prevent rot.
  • Maintenance: Requires minimal maintenance. Regularly inspect and trim any yellowing or damaged leaves to maintain the plant’s health and appearance. Perform weekly partial water changes and monitor water parameters to ensure a stable environment.

Propagation

  • Rhizome Division: Propagation is straightforward through rhizome division. Cut the rhizome into sections, ensuring each piece has at least 2-3 healthy leaves and roots. Replant the sections in the substrate or attach them to hardscape elements.
