Want white on a full-size leaf? Anubias Broad White carries its marbling across broad, leathery blades rather than the small leaves of the Petite varieties — so the pattern reads from across the room. No two plants are marked the same way.

What You’ll Receive

Healthy, fully established Anubias Broad White, carefully cultivated by Aquarium Plants Factory®:

  • Bare-root Plants: Loose plants with approximately 5+ leaves
  • Potted Plants: Rooted in a net pot with rockwool, approximately 5+ leaves

Plant Profile

  • Common name — Broad White Anubias
  • Scientific nameAnubias barteri 'Broad White'
  • Placement — Midground, on wood or stone
  • Mature height — 6–10 in
  • Growth rate — Very slow

Care

  • Difficulty — Advanced
  • Light — Low to medium. Bright light scorches white tissue and feeds algae
  • CO₂ — Not required
  • Water — 72–82°F · pH 6.0–7.5
  • Substrate — Not required. Attaches to hardscape
  • Growth habit — Amphibious. Also grows emersed
  • Propagation — Rhizome division

Grower’s Notes

  • Broad leaves make the variegation harder, not easier. A large leaf with a lot of white area has proportionally less working chlorophyll, so this plant is slower and less tolerant than a plain barteri. Rated Advanced for that reason.
  • It can revert. Variegated Anubias may begin producing pure green leaves and lose the white over time. This is a known trait of variegated plants, not a defect. Remove any fully green shoots promptly — green growth photosynthesizes better and will gradually take over the plant if left.
  • Never bury the rhizome. Roots can go into substrate; the rhizome cannot. Buried, it rots.
  • Keep it shaded and wipe the leaves occasionally. Algae shows badly on white tissue, and slow growth means it settles faster than the plant replaces the leaf.
  • Every plant is marked differently. If you are buying more than one for a matched pair, expect them to look like siblings rather than twins.

Want to go deeper? Read our complete Anubias Care Guide.

Notes

  • Photos are for reference only. Each plant's variegation pattern is unique and will vary. Due to the natural characteristics of variegated plants, some leaves may show more or less white coloration. Minor melting or leaf adjustment may occur as the plant adapts to new water conditions.
  • Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.

What We Guarantee

24-Hour Live Arrival Guarantee — We guarantee that live plants and live aquatic animals will arrive alive. In the rare case of a Dead on Arrival (DOA), you must notify us within 24 hours of the delivery time recorded on the carrier's official tracking page. The guarantee is void after that 24-hour window, as condition can no longer be attributed to transit.

How to Submit a Claim

  1. Take at least 2 clear, well-lit photos of the affected items in their original, unopened, sealed packaging, plus a photo of the shipping label on the box.
  2. Email your photos and order number to hello@aquariumplantsfactory.com within 24 hours of delivery.
  3. Do not photograph plants or animals after they have been unpacked, planted, or introduced to your aquarium — once an item enters your aquarium's ecosystem, it is no longer covered.

Approved claims are resolved with a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion, under the terms of our Refund Policy. Each item is eligible for one replacement only — replacements are final and we cannot replace a replacement.

Conditions That Void the Guarantee

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping address (vacant address, missing apartment number, or any issue that prevents delivery)
  • Packages marked "invalid address," "undeliverable," refused, or returned to sender
  • Packages left unclaimed, held at a carrier facility at the customer's request, or not retrieved promptly after delivery — live goods must be brought indoors and unpacked the day they arrive
  • Carrier delays, weather events, or delivery exceptions once the package has left our facility
  • Shipments to freight forwarders or package-forwarding services

Providing accurate, complete shipping information and monitoring your tracking are essential to keeping your guarantee valid.

Please note: the Live Arrival Guarantee covers arrival only. We cannot guarantee ongoing success — aquarium environment, water quality, nutrients, temperature, lighting, filtration, and CO2 all affect long-term results.

What We Can't Guarantee

  1. Pest-free plants (potted & bare-root): Although our plants are grown in our own clean greenhouse, we cannot guarantee they are 100% free of snails, algae, or other hitchhikers. We recommend rinsing and quarantining all plants before adding them to your aquarium. Tissue culture (in vitro) plants are the exception — they are grown in sterile lab conditions, are 100% free of pests, algae, and disease, and have never been in contact with any aquarium.
  2. Pesticide-free plants: We use homemade, organic pest control in our greenhouse and never use copper-based pesticides, which are toxic to invertebrates such as snails, crabs, and shrimp. However, we cannot guarantee plants are entirely pesticide-free — always rinse and quarantine before use in invertebrate tanks.
  3. Your aquarium's success: We are not responsible for your aquarium inhabitants, including fish, shrimp, snails, and turtles. Please quarantine all plants before use.
  4. Growth form: Unless specified, we do not guarantee plants will grow emersed or submersed in your particular setup.

Please review your state's regulations on restricted plants, as we are committed to not shipping plants that are restricted in your area. Do not release any plants into the wild or waterways, as this can harm local ecosystems by introducing invasive species.

Your cooperation in protecting the environment is appreciated. For continuously updated information, refer to the USDA State Noxious Weed list here.

Thank you for your responsible commitment to environmental preservation.

Customers praise this striking aquarium plant for its "stunning" white and green contrast. Most report healthy arrivals with strong roots and rhizomes, often receiving bonus plants. The plant adapts well to tanks and continues growing. Some experienced initial leaf melt during transition. Shoppers note it's "eye-catching" but pricey, though considered worth it for the bold color.

  • Unbelievably beautiful plants, very healthy with great roots

Broad white

Good sized plant, could have cut into two if desired. Very healthy rhizome and roots , is adapting well in new aquarium. I ordered multiple varieties of variegated/white anubias, and this one is probably the boldest. The leaves are quite large and the color is striking. An awesome flash of white while the other varieties are a bit more subtle. I would say the only downside is the cost, it’s a bit pricey. Would definitely be worth it for smaller tanks though.

Just WOW!!!

Just absolutely beautiful. The plants arrived in great condition and I was pleasantly surprised to see extras. I ordered bare root plants expecting to receive a single plant, but received a clump of 2-4. Such a great deal in terms of price for such rare plants! I will be buying more in the future for sure!

Arrived very healthy

With an additional plant, thanks!! I was unsure of how they’d arrive with being in Michigan during a cold snap in the single digits. All anubias have been in my tank for about a week and are thriving and beautiful. I would recommend and will buy from you all in the future

Great plant

As usual arrived quickly, healthy, and great color. Super simple to plant and the white of this plant is a great contrast from the green, red, and pink colors typically found in aquascapes. Looks great planted on driftwood. Running a low tech set up so I hope this plant stays white and doesn’t green up too much. Thanks APF!

Beautiful little gem

This is a gorgeous little plant. It arrived very healthy, with six leaves on it. It's about three inches wide and smaller than a standard anubias. If you're getting one I would recommend planning its location carefully, since the white color is very eye catching and it will draw a lot of attention.

B
Brian

They arrived beautiful and healthy one good size plant per pot ordered ( 4 ) 5 to 6 leaves per plant. 3 of them are growing fine the 4th melted but has a very healthy rhizome so there should not be a problem. It’s nice to have the 3 not melt so some how they where close to being Submersed when propagated with is nice.

Extremely Pleased

I didn't know what to expect buying the white broad leaf version of Anubias. Plants came in very healthy, and nicely sized. I've never purchased from APF, but this won't be my last. I've purchased from other vendors, but APFs stock came in much healthier.
