Congensis at nano scale. Anubias congensis 'Mini' keeps the long, narrow, lance-shaped leaf that makes the species distinctive — upright and pointed where most Anubias are broad and rounded — but stops at 4–6 inches instead of towering over a small tank.

What You’ll Receive

You will receive your Anubias Congensis Mini in your selected format:

  • Bare-root plants: A small loose portion with approx. 6+ leaves
  • Potted plants: Net pot with rockwool containing approx. 6+ leaves

Plant Profile

  • Common name — Anubias Congensis Mini
  • Scientific nameAnubias congensis 'Mini'
  • Also known asAnubias congensis var. mini
  • Placement — Foreground to midground, attached to wood, stone or décor
  • Mature height — 4–6 in
  • Growth rate — Slow

Care

  • Difficulty — Beginner
  • Light — Low to medium. Strong light invites algae on slow-turning leaves
  • CO₂ — Not required
  • Water — 72–82°F · pH 6.0–7.5
  • Substrate — Not required. Attaches to hardscape
  • Growth habit — Amphibious. Suits paludariums and ripariums
  • Propagation — Rhizome division

Grower’s Notes

  • Leaf shape does the work here. Next to nana or barteri, the narrow upright leaf gives vertical line in a genus that mostly gives mass — useful when a scape has plenty of Anubias already and needs a different silhouette.
  • Never bury the rhizome. Glue or tie it down; roots can enter substrate, the rhizome cannot.
  • Thick waxy leaves resist algae and resist nibbling, which is why Anubias survives in tanks with cichlids and large fish.
  • Divide with a clean blade, keeping at least three leaves and some roots per section.
  • Slow growth means damaged leaves stay damaged — trim old leaves at the rhizome rather than waiting.

Notes

  • Photos are sample representations. The actual plant you receive may vary slightly in size or shape. We do not guarantee the plants will be free of pests, pesticides, or whether they were grown emersed or submerged.
  • Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.

What We Guarantee

24-Hour Live Arrival Guarantee — We guarantee that live plants and live aquatic animals will arrive alive. In the rare case of a Dead on Arrival (DOA), you must notify us within 24 hours of the delivery time recorded on the carrier's official tracking page. The guarantee is void after that 24-hour window, as condition can no longer be attributed to transit.

How to Submit a Claim

  1. Take at least 2 clear, well-lit photos of the affected items in their original, unopened, sealed packaging, plus a photo of the shipping label on the box.
  2. Email your photos and order number to hello@aquariumplantsfactory.com within 24 hours of delivery.
  3. Do not photograph plants or animals after they have been unpacked, planted, or introduced to your aquarium — once an item enters your aquarium's ecosystem, it is no longer covered.

Approved claims are resolved with a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion, under the terms of our Refund Policy. Each item is eligible for one replacement only — replacements are final and we cannot replace a replacement.

Conditions That Void the Guarantee

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping address (vacant address, missing apartment number, or any issue that prevents delivery)
  • Packages marked "invalid address," "undeliverable," refused, or returned to sender
  • Packages left unclaimed, held at a carrier facility at the customer's request, or not retrieved promptly after delivery — live goods must be brought indoors and unpacked the day they arrive
  • Carrier delays, weather events, or delivery exceptions once the package has left our facility
  • Shipments to freight forwarders or package-forwarding services

Providing accurate, complete shipping information and monitoring your tracking are essential to keeping your guarantee valid.

Please note: the Live Arrival Guarantee covers arrival only. We cannot guarantee ongoing success — aquarium environment, water quality, nutrients, temperature, lighting, filtration, and CO2 all affect long-term results.

What We Can't Guarantee

  1. Pest-free plants (potted & bare-root): Although our plants are grown in our own clean greenhouse, we cannot guarantee they are 100% free of snails, algae, or other hitchhikers. We recommend rinsing and quarantining all plants before adding them to your aquarium. Tissue culture (in vitro) plants are the exception — they are grown in sterile lab conditions, are 100% free of pests, algae, and disease, and have never been in contact with any aquarium.
  2. Pesticide-free plants: We use homemade, organic pest control in our greenhouse and never use copper-based pesticides, which are toxic to invertebrates such as snails, crabs, and shrimp. However, we cannot guarantee plants are entirely pesticide-free — always rinse and quarantine before use in invertebrate tanks.
  3. Your aquarium's success: We are not responsible for your aquarium inhabitants, including fish, shrimp, snails, and turtles. Please quarantine all plants before use.
  4. Growth form: Unless specified, we do not guarantee plants will grow emersed or submersed in your particular setup.

Please review your state's regulations on restricted plants, as we are committed to not shipping plants that are restricted in your area. Do not release any plants into the wild or waterways, as this can harm local ecosystems by introducing invasive species.

Your cooperation in protecting the environment is appreciated. For continuously updated information, refer to the USDA State Noxious Weed list here.

Thank you for your responsible commitment to environmental preservation.

Customers praised this aquarium plant as "healthy and vibrant," arriving in excellent condition with "deep green leaves" and strong roots. Most reviews highlight robust growth and hardy nature, ideal for nano tanks. However, one customer reported receiving a plant with discolored rhizome that didn't survive. Some noted plants were smaller than expected.

  • The leaves and rhizome are completely free of algae.
  • The plants arrived and truly looked EXACTLY like the photo.
  • The Congensis had very robust growth and root development. Never disappointed!

Exceeded my expectations

I was so impressed with the plant quality. I expected wilted, melting, poor adjusting plants (because that’s usually my experience buying in the summer time and online) but these plants were all perfectly healthy and well packaged. I was most impressed by the bundle of 30 hair grass plugs and they arrived so healthy and green. They haven’t shown signs of shock since planting either these plants feel extra hardy. Thank you! I’ll be buying plants here from now on.

Nice APF Plants

Most of my plants are from APF, a few are from various sellers on Etsy and LRB Aquatics, they've all done well thus far. I don't like being asked for a review a few days after they arrive when I haven't really had a chance to evaluate them. I also don't like being asked for a tip when I order, I feel like you should pay your staff a living wage, how do I even know if staff are receiving the tip, and it makes no sense to tip before I receive anything, it makes me think if I don't I'll receive crappy plants, I tip a waiter after my meal, otherwise what's their incentive? Tipping has gotten way out of hand, pay your workers. Anyway, if anyone is interested I have UNS aquariums with twinstar lights that I really like and the new app is fantastic, just what your need, not all the **** that your don't, I build my own stands, I run a modified version of dirted/Walstad systems, by which I mean I use a tidal hob filter on very low flow, NO CO2, and a crazy mixture of potting soil and other stuff that I put together from multiple YouTube videos, all my tanks have houseplants growing out of them, I like how they look and they eat excess nutrients like crazy, I use remineralized RO water with quarterly water changes and service my filter at the same time, I don't ever check my parameters, my fish come primarily from aquabid and Dan's, hope that helps... Nice plants that grow, haven't had any epic fails yet, some do better than others, but that's life, right? It's all an experiment.

Great plants as always!

Plants look nice, but a little smaller than I thought they might be. Came as 2 plants in 1 pot. Will probably buy more to expand the look!

DOA

Delivered 6/29 with 7 other plants but this one didn't pull through for me. Straight from packaging I could tell that it was going to have issues. Leaves were already pulling at the stem base and the rhizome was looking discolored I held out hope until this morning 7/9 and them pitched

Wow! The plants arrived and truly looked EXACTLY like the photo above of the guy holding it in his hand. Very healthy and hardy. Not to mention, super, well-packaged with care. And SUPER quick delivery. Super clean and no snails! Will definitely order from APF again. No complaints.

Healthy and Good Sized

Purchased a potted A. congensis and there were two super health and beefy rhizomes in the pot. Each one was two inches long with a dozen deep green leaves and long, strong roots. Very pleased. If these don't do well, it'll be my fault, not APF's.

Amazing

These guys arrived with two separate plants and were a gorgeous green color! They’ve done great so far and are an excellent Anubias for my aquascaped nano tank.

Anubias for nano tank

What if anubias looked more like a fern? You'd get anubias congensis. With the leaves growing vertically, I can fit more plants in my nano tank without shading out nearby plants. My pot had a single rhizome.

Another gorgeous plant for my discus tank. I love the shape of the leaves which provide a pleasant contrast to the more rounded leaves of the other anubias in the tank of mine. Excellent product!

A beautiful variety of anubias!

My first order from APF was a success. I love this lighter, more stream-lined variety and it looks great in the tank. All 5 were consistent in size and quality. Beautifully packed for shipping, which is a definite bonus!!
