Anubias without the rounded leaves. Anubias Minima Dragon Claw carries elongated, narrow, dark green leaves with an irregular curved outline that gives the plant its name — a spiky, angular silhouette where most Anubias read soft and broad. Same toughness, entirely different shape.

What You’ll Receive

Enhance your aquarium with our versatile selection of high-quality aquatic plants, available in convenient formats:

  • Bare-root Plants: Includes approximately 1 loose bare-root plants. Perfect for flexible planting arrangements.
  • Rooted Potted: Approximately 1 rooted plants securely potted in a net pot with rockwool, ensuring stability and healthy growth.

Plant Profile

  • Common name — Dragon Claw Anubias
  • Scientific nameAnubias barteri var. glabra 'Minima Dragon Claw'
  • Also known as — Anubias Dragon Claw
  • Placement — Midground, attached to driftwood, stone, or décor
  • Mature height — 3–5 in
  • Growth rate — Slow

Care

  • Difficulty — Beginner
  • Light — Low to medium. Strong light invites algae on slow-turning leaves
  • CO₂ — Not required
  • Water — 72–82°F · pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard
  • Substrate — Not required. Attaches to hardscape
  • Growth habit — Amphibious. Also grows emersed
  • Propagation — Rhizome division

Grower’s Notes

  • Shape is the reason to buy it. If your scape already has broad-leaved Anubias, adding more of the same reads as bulk. Dragon Claw's narrow angular leaves give contrast within the same genus — and the same care regime.
  • Never bury the rhizome. Glue or tie it to wood or stone; roots can enter substrate, the rhizome cannot. Buried rhizomes rot.
  • Slow growth means very little maintenance, but it also means damaged leaves stay damaged. Trim old leaves at the rhizome rather than waiting for them to recover.
  • Divide with a clean blade, keeping at least three leaves per section.
  • Tough enough for tanks with cichlids or large fish that destroy softer planting.

Notes

  • Pictures are not the actual plants you will receive, but a sample representation. Unless specific, we don't guarantee aquatic plants will be free of pests, and pesticides, grow emerged or submerge.
  • Never release aquarium plants into natural waterways.
