Nymphaea August Koch is a hybrid water lily plant that produces large violet blue flowers. It is named after August Koch, a German water lily hybridizer who developed many new cultivars in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Like other water lilies, Nymphaea August Koch requires specific growing conditions to thrive. It prefers still water and should be planted in a pond or container with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. The water temperature should be between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
In terms of care, Nymphaea August Koch requires regular fertilization to ensure healthy growth and blooming. Water lily fertilizer tablets can be added to the soil every few weeks during the growing season. The plant also benefits from occasional pruning to remove dead leaves and flowers.
Nymphaea August Koch is a popular choice among water gardeners due to its beautiful, fragrant flowers and easy care requirements. It is an excellent addition to any water garden or pond, adding both visual interest and attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Plant Form: Tuber
Sunlight: Full Sun, Partial Shade
Soil Type: Gravel, Clay, Sand, Dirt
There are two main types of water lilies, tropical and hardy. The differences between tropical and hardy water lilies are a growing habit. Tropical water lilies don't do well in winter. Hardy water lilies, on the other hand, can tolerate the cold. Tropical water lilies tubers must be removed from the pond and stored in moist conditions to come back in the future years. In warm climates, they can remain in the pond.

Though I only just received the tubers, they appeared in quality condition.
